The single-lip deep drilling process is currently used for diameters ranging from 0.5 mm to 50 mm in three configurations. For diameters smaller than 1.9 mm, solid carbide drills are primarily used, where the cutting head and shank are made from a single piece. Additionally, BRT produces a two-piece version, with either a carbide cutting head or a steel head with interchangeable inserts and a steel shank.
